Exploring the Role of Food Systems in Community Economic Development

Jekeia Murphy of the CS Mott Group for Sustainable Food Systems, located at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan presented an insightful presention on   the relationship between food security and economic viability. This presentation is on how CAA's can  leverage economic development strategies to perserve, create  and sustain healthy food  while creating jobs and improving the environment.

Fayatte County Community Action Corporation's Food Incubator Project

Jim Stark of Fayette County,CAA presented a thourough overview of how the agency leveraged its existing food programs and its partners to create a commercial kitchen incubator in Uniontown, PA. The presentation provides details of the agency's Republic Incubator Project from start-up to operation.
