HUD Releases 2012 Housing Counseling Super NOFA
This grant supports the delivery of a wide variety of housing counseling services to homebuyers, homeowners, low- to moderate-income renters, and the homeless. The primary objectives of the program are to improve financial literacy, expand homeownership opportunities, improve access to affordable housing and preserve homeownership. Green Community Engagement Charette Grant
Enterprise Green Communities offers Charrette Grants of $5,000 per project for affordable housing developers to engage in integrative design. An integrative design and development process takes into consideration viewpoints and technical expertise from everyone involved in an affordable housing project – from schematic design to occupancy and beyond. Bank of America Announces Grants to Spur Small and Rural Business Lending
Will provide $10 million in grants to nonprofit lenders, such as Community Development Financial Institutions, to leverage funds from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for lending to small and rural businesses. The grants, for use as loan loss reserves, are intended to unlock as much as $100 million in low-cost, long-term capital for small business microloans nationwide over the next 12 months.
Reader's Digest Foundation "Make It Matter" Initiative
Reader's Digest selects stories of individuals giving back to their communities to appear in their "Make It Matter" column or on ReadersDigest.com. Selected contributors will have a $1,500 grant made to a tax-exempt organization of their choice, and Reader's Digest will promote the cause to its 38 million readers.
